All activities that we repeat everyday, to the point of going on an auto mode, are our habits. Waking up at a certain time, brushing a certain way, having tea with just that much sugar are all our habits that we have let ourselves acquire over a period of time. As we age, we become more and more set in our routines and the way we lead our lives. Our habits define our lifestyle and eventually the person we become.
“We become what we repeatedly do.”
― Sean Covey
Does anybody need telling whether his habits are good or otherwise. The character of the man becomes quite evident when one comes in close contact with the person.
Everyone of us is a slave to his habits. While many serve us positively, some may require change.
“A man who can’t bear to share his habits is a man who needs to quit them.”
― Stephen King
We do not like change. This is no news but a universal fact. But, if and when we become aware to our own behaviors which seem to hinder our growth and chances of realizing our goals, shouldn’t we make an effort to embrace change and promote personal success?
“The chains of habit are too weak to be felt until they are too strong to be broken.”
― Samuel Johnson
For, it may not be so difficult to work towards our own good. The way we taught ourselves, rather unconsciously, to fall trap to bad habits, we can teach ourselves to come out of it and acquire a new, better one.
“If you believe you can change –
if you make it a habit – the change becomes real.”
― Charles Duhigg
Let’s make it a habit to become better everyday, in everyway!
